Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, through the National Center for Health Statistics and Division of Vital Statistics, is conducting a Sources Sought market-research notice for information-management services supporting manual coding of causes of death on mortality and fetal death records. The work includes coding records that cannot be coded electronically, quality-control and automated-system validation coding, variable-volume task-order support, weekday coverage, and compliance with production and accuracy requirements, including less than a 4% error rate for production coding and an average quality-control error rate below 2% for nosologists. Qualified personnel must include NCHS-certified nosologists or similarly qualified medical coders. The work uses Government-furnished computers, PIV cards, CDC network access, and secure systems, with extensive confidentiality, privacy, information-security, and background-investigation requirements. The draft performance work statement describes a five-year period consisting of one base year and four option years, with anticipated performance beginning after award. This is market research only and is not a solicitation for proposals or bids.
