Description
The California Department of Transportation is soliciting a price quote from a certified Small Business, Microbusiness, Small Business for public works, or Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise for roof removal and installation services at two maintenance stations. The work includes removing existing roofing, installing a two-layer torch-applied Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene roofing system at the Hemet Maintenance Station, and installing an 80-mil Thermoplastic Polyolefin roofing system over the existing metal roof at the Camp Angelus Maintenance Station. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, tools, materials, permits, disposal, travel, and incidentals; install associated flashings, gutters, roof accessories, insulation, cover boards, and drainage components; and ensure the completed systems meet a 120-mph design wind speed and applicable roofing standards. The contractor must hold a current C-39 Roofing Contractor license and Department of Industrial Relations registration. The solicitation prohibits subcontracting. The price quote must include every required line item, including lump-sum roofing work, a five-percent allowance for approved parts and materials, and an hourly rate for approved unforeseen labor. The awarded contractor must provide a payment bond equal to 100 percent of the contract amount if the bid exceeds $25,000, as well as required insurance before contract execution. The agreement is estimated to run from December 2, 2026, through December 1, 2027, and includes one-year workmanship and ten-year manufacturer warranties.
