Description
The City of Rome is soliciting bids for a complete roof-coating project at its Transit Department. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, materials, repairs, surface preparation, primers, sealants, reinforcement fabrics, fasteners, coatings, accessories, waste disposal, and related incidentals for approximately 13,530 square feet of ribbed metal roof surface. The work includes identifying and repairing damaged panels, fasteners, seams, laps, penetrations, flashing, corrosion, and deteriorated sealants; preparing and priming the roof; and applying a Mule-Hide fluid-applied roofing system or approved comparable system in accordance with manufacturer requirements. The contractor must provide product and safety data, compatibility documentation, applicable installer certification, manufacturer and workmanship warranty information, a project schedule, and final punch-list corrections. The bid package requires numerous affidavits and certifications, a bid form with four similar-project references from the past five years, and a certificate of insurance. Bid bonds, payment bonds, and performance bonds apply only when the total contract amount reaches $100,000 or more.
