Description
The City of Trenton, Missouri is soliciting sealed bids for roofing repair services addressing hail damage from the May 15 storm. The work is divided into separate composite-shingle and metal-roof contracts, and one contractor may receive both. Composite-roof work includes removal and disposal of existing roofing, replacement of two shingle roofs, ridge vents, guttering, flashing, and other necessary repairs. Metal-roof work includes removal and disposal or recycling of existing roofing and replacement of five steel roofs with compatible coloration, vents, flashing, trim, and related repairs. An optional bid alternate covers additional damaged accessories. Bidders must use the mandatory bid form and provide pricing for the composite-shingle and metal-roof scopes. Contractors must obtain an occupational license, remain in good standing with the City, comply with prevailing-wage requirements, and ensure on-site employees complete the ten-hour construction safety training program. Required insurance includes commercial general liability, business automobile liability, workers’ compensation, and employers’ liability coverage. Performance and payment bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract price, are required after award unless the contract price is under $50,000; certificates of insurance are required before work begins.
