Description
El Monte City School District is soliciting bids for roofing work at Shirpser Elementary School, Wright Elementary School, and Potrero Elementary School. The contractor will furnish labor, equipment, and miscellaneous materials to install District-purchased Garland roofing materials, including modified bituminous membrane systems and fluid-applied roof restoration systems. Contractor-furnished materials, repairs, flashing, drains, coping, gutters, penetrations, cleanup, protection, testing, and related roofing components are included as specified. The work includes compliance with applicable building codes, site maps, manufacturer requirements, prevailing-wage and federal-funding requirements, and asbestos-related precautions identified in the environmental reports. Bidders must hold a California Class C-39 roofing contractor license, be registered as public works contractors with the California Department of Industrial Relations, and be prequalified where required. The contractor must be a certified Garland installer and provide bid-specific certification. The bid package requires electronic submission through the PlanetBids Bid Portal, a mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit, a 10% bid bond, and numerous certifications and supporting documents. The project duration is stated as 60 days, with 100% payment and performance bonds required after award and a five-year contractor labor warranty plus manufacturer system warranty requirements.
