Description
The California Highway Patrol is soliciting bids for onsite destruction services at its Inland Division facility. The scope includes destruction of illegal drugs, cannabis, psilocybin, vape pens, cartridges, batteries, and biological hazards such as bloody clothing, used syringes, blood or urine samples, semen, saliva, tissue, and other items containing bodily fluids. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, supplies, protective equipment, transportation, licenses, and permits necessary to perform the work. Destruction must render controlled substances non-retrievable in accordance with Drug Enforcement Administration requirements, including 21 CFR Part 1317, and must comply with California environmental and hazardous-waste regulations. The contractor must use mobile onsite technology, maintain required hazardous-waste and processing permits, provide DEA Form 41 documentation, assist with inventory reconciliation, and transport the resulting destroyed waste off site for disposal. The agreement is budgeted at $50,000, with payment based on actual services rendered. A valid California hazardous-waste transporter certificate is required, and assigned personnel may undergo driver-license and fingerprint checks.
