Description
The School Board of Marion County, Florida, is soliciting bids for a term contract to package, collect, transport, and properly dispose of hazardous and universal wastes from multiple district schools and facilities. Materials include used motor oil, antifreeze, hydraulic and transmission fluids, contaminated water and sludge, fuels, paints and solvents, aerosol cans, fluorescent lamps, PCB and non-PCB ballasts, batteries, mercury-containing devices, and science classroom chemicals and preserved specimens. The contractor must provide containers, labeling, equipment, labor, safety equipment, manifests, transportation, trained and certified personnel, and related regulatory compliance. Standard service requests require a response within 48 hours, while emergency requests require a response within two hours; service may be required during weekends, holidays, and outside regular business hours. The contractor must also provide handling and storage training as needed and issue recycling or disposal certificates within 30 days of service. Bidders must submit the completed proposal form and required qualifications, certifications, licenses, permits, EPA Generator Identification Numbers, a Florida Department of Environmental Protection Transporter Approval Letter, DEP Form 62-730.900(5)(a), applicable compliance inspection reports, a W-9, and other required certifications and acknowledgments. The contract term is November 11, 2026, through November 10, 2027, with three additional one-year renewal periods available by mutual agreement. Electronic submission through the designated procurement portal is required; mailed, emailed, and in-person bid submissions are not accepted.
