Description
The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority is soliciting proposals for a hydrology and hydraulic study of approximately 8.75 mileposts of the San Gabriel Subdivision railroad right-of-way, from MP 45.75 to MP 54.5. The consultant will conduct project initiation, data collection, on-site field reconnaissance, infrastructure assessment, and a desktop soil investigation. The study area includes multiple flood-control channels and seven identified culvert crossings. The work includes hydrologic modeling for 10-year and 100-year rainfall events, one-dimensional hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS or equivalent, evaluation of drainage infrastructure capacity and impaired functionality caused by debris, sediment, or blockage, and assessment of flood risks to railroad assets and adjacent properties. Deliverables include model files, assumptions and input/output datasets, QA/QC documentation, maps, calculation worksheets, field documentation, and draft and final technical reports. Final engineering and construction design are excluded. The proposal must include an approach and work plan, staffing and relevant experience, assumptions and deliverables, review cycles, and a schedule demonstrating completion within nine months.
