Description
The California Department of Public Health seeks a single contractor to provide hazardous-waste removal services at its Richmond campus. The scope includes supplying labor, equipment, transportation, drums, packing materials, and labels; profiling, segregating, packaging, labeling, transporting, disposing of, or recycling hazardous waste; replacing containers when requested; and complying with applicable federal and California hazardous-waste, transportation, and environmental regulations. The contractor must perform an initial cleanup of the hazardous-waste storage facilities, provide technical consultation and written risk-assessment documentation, and respond to hazardous-waste emergencies. Routine pickups are required three times per fiscal year, with an optional fourth pickup, and emergency response must generally be available within 24 hours; the contractor's operations or emergency team must be located close enough to arrive within four hours when required. The agreement is anticipated to run from November 2, 2026, or final approval if later, through November 1, 2029, with a maximum amount of $900,000. Bidders must meet specified licensing, transporter-registration, carrier-registration, experience, insurance, and DVBE-participation requirements.
