Description
The California Department of Transportation is soliciting on-call hazardous waste services in Madera, Fresno, Kern, Tulare, and Kings Counties. The contractor must provide waste assessment, sampling and laboratory testing, characterization, packaging, labeling, manifesting, pickup, loading, transportation, recycling, treatment, and lawful disposal of hazardous, environmentally regulated, universal, biological, laboratory-packed, and other regulated wastes. Services may include roadside biohazard cleanup, spill response, waste preparation, container delivery, and guidance regarding waste handling and disposal. The contractor must furnish qualified personnel, vehicles, equipment, personal protective equipment, containers, supplies, and certified laboratory access. Required capabilities and credentials include hazardous-material transportation and waste-transporter registrations, applicable California licenses and certifications, a Motor Carrier Permit, HAZWOPER-trained personnel, and compliance with prevailing-wage, hazardous-waste, transportation, and environmental regulations. The agreement is expected to run from October 26, 2026, through October 25, 2029, subject to approval and notice to proceed, with service requests generally due within five working days and emergency services within four hours when public health, safety, or welfare is affected.
