Description
The City of Palm Springs is soliciting a lump-sum construction bid for widening Ramon Road from San Luis Rey Drive to Candlewood Drive in Palm Springs and Cathedral City. The scope includes new curb, gutter, sidewalks, pavement, retaining walls, roadway improvements, widening of the Ramon Road Bridge over the Whitewater River, Whitewater Channel improvements, traffic signal modifications and installations, landscaping and irrigation, drainage, lighting, utility coordination, traffic control, and a CV Link bicycle and pedestrian detour. The project must be constructed in defined stages with substantial completion of Stage 1A work before January 31, 2027, and an overall duration of 442 working days after the Notice to Proceed. The bid requires electronic submission through the designated procurement system, including the electronic bid schedule and all required bid documents. The estimated bid value is $55,000,000. A 10% bid bond is required, and payment and performance bonds are required at 100% of the contract amount. The prime contractor must self-perform at least 50% of the contract work. California Class A contractor licensing and Department of Industrial Relations public works registration are required. Federal-aid requirements include prevailing wages, DBE compliance, Buy America provisions, environmental controls, and a 42-trainee or apprentice program.
