Description
The City of Iowa City is soliciting proposals from qualified and experienced fireworks-display vendors to plan, furnish, and execute professional Fourth of July fireworks displays for the community. The vendor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, permits, insurance, safety measures, setup, coordination, electronic firing, staging-area security, public-safety support, and post-event cleanup. The display must be family-friendly, approximately 30 minutes long, use shells no larger than four inches, include varied aerial effects with a clear opening, main body, and finale, and use at least two licensed operators. The five-year contract covers annual displays from 2027 through 2031, with specified rain-delay dates. The budget is $35,000 per display. Proposals must include a submission letter, detailed show options and pricing, credentials and certifications, permitting and safety information, site and setup requirements, availability confirmation, references, and required compliance responses. Vendors must provide proof of a federal explosives license or permit and a $10 million fireworks liability insurance certificate naming the City of Iowa City, the University of Iowa, the State of Iowa, and related affiliates as insured. Proposals must be submitted through Ion Wave; faxed, emailed, mailed, and hand-delivered proposals are not accepted.
