Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to issue a sole-source purchase order for one day of in-hospital bone densitometry and DEXA examination training for technologists at the Iowa City VA Medical Center. The training must enable technologists to perform fully diagnostic and interpretable bone density examinations and understand the applicable bone densitometry equipment. The equipment will be provided by the Iowa City Medical Imaging Department, and the vendor will not access any systems. Documentation of the completed educational program must be provided to the medical imaging department. The notice identifies GE Healthcare with the Alpha Source Service Team and states that Probo Medical/Alpha Source Group, Inc. is the only qualified source because Alpha Source is GE Healthcare’s certified service provider for its bone mineral densitometry products. Responses are for the purpose of determining whether the requirement should be competed; respondents must provide company information, manufacturer authorization, SAM UEI information, business-size and socioeconomic status, applicable schedule contract information, and non-manufacturer-rule status when applicable.
