Description
The University of Iowa is seeking a supplier to operate a retail cafe and refreshment service at the College of Public Health Building. The operation will provide food, coffee, and beverages for building occupants and visitors during weekday mornings and lunch periods, excluding University holidays, generally during the academic year from August through May. The supplier must provide food and other supplies, management and labor, uniforms and linens, permits and licenses, cleaning, waste removal, customer service, operating equipment not provided by the University, and any required delivery and payment-card services. The University will provide specified equipment, utilities, pest control, and access to waste-management services. Staff and subcontractor personnel must undergo documented criminal background checks current within the required period. The response must describe the proposed food theme, operating hours, design and any renovations, equipment and estimated costs, business model, pricing and fee structure, menu items with nutrition information and prices, transition timeline, value-added opportunities, stakeholder involvement, expertise, risk assessment, exceptions, compliance, contacts, and payment methods. Suppliers must submit three comparable-service references with contact information and audited financial statements and annual reports for the previous two years. The agreement will have an initial one-year term with four possible one-year extensions, for a maximum of five years. Responses must be submitted electronically through the eBid system.
