Description
The City of Iowa City is soliciting bids for comprehensive snow removal and ice treatment services at numerous city-owned or managed properties. Work includes clearing sidewalks, pedestrian walkways, entrances, steps, ramps, driveways, parking lots, drive aisles, and other designated areas; applying commercially available ice melt; maintaining safe and accessible routes; and placing snow so it does not obstruct traffic, drainage, fire hydrants, accessible spaces, or neighboring properties. The vendor must provide all labor, supervision, vehicles, equipment, tools, ice melt, and other materials. Service categories include regular, conditional, weekend-only, and will-call locations across housing authority, neighborhood services, parks and recreation, senior center, animal control, resource management, and other city properties. The initial contract term runs from purchase-order issuance through September 30, 2027, with up to four one-year renewals by mutual agreement. A completed and signed Wage Theft Affidavit is required with the bid; Contract Compliance and EEO documents are required only from a tentatively selected vendor. No bid bond or bid security is required, but insurance is required. Questions, clarifications, and requests for deviations or exceptions must be submitted through the Ion Wave Q&A feature by October 19, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Central Time. Bids must be submitted through Ion Wave; faxed, emailed, mailed, and hand-delivered bids are not accepted.
