Description
The City of Iowa City is soliciting a contractor for rehabilitation of the existing Riverside Drive pedestrian bridge and spiral ramp at Iowa Avenue and Newton Road. Work includes concrete rehabilitation, expansion-joint rehabilitation, pavement modifications at the spiral-ramp landing, new handrails, new electrical lighting, and bridge-deck coating. The specified start date is May 17, 2027, with substantial completion required by August 20, 2027, and final completion by September 17, 2027. The engineer’s estimate is $1,400,000, and liquidated damages are $2,500 per day. A nonmandatory pre-bid meeting will be held virtually on October 1, 2026.
