Description
West Valley City seeks qualified towing companies to provide fleet and non-preference towing, impound, and storage services for its Police Department and other City departments. The City intends to select 20 providers and three alternates for its tow rotation. Services include accident and violation tows, abandoned-vehicle recovery and disposal, evidence and safekeeping tows, recovery operations, and other City-related tows. Providers must be able to handle light, medium, and heavy vehicles, respond to dispatches within 20 minutes, and maintain appropriate trucks, equipment, trained personnel, and a secure, State Tax-approved storage yard of at least 5,000 square feet within West Valley City. The RFQ states that providers should be capable of servicing approximately 300 police-generated tows annually. Responders must submit the provided Letter of Intent, a valid business license, proof of a qualifying Utah State Tax Commission impound yard number, evidence of at least three consecutive years of tow-truck motor-carrier certification, and certificates of insurance meeting the stated requirements. The selected providers will enter into a Tow Rotation Agreement, which provides for an initial one-year term and five additional one-year renewal terms. The City will select qualified providers through a randomized lottery.
