Description
Sarasota County is soliciting a contractor to provide comprehensive towing services for fleet, emergency services, and transit vehicles and equipment throughout the county. The scope includes light-, medium-, and heavy-duty towing; emergency response; winch-out services; out-of-county transportation when requested; passenger transportation for disabled asset operators and passengers; accident cleanup; and secure post-accident impound and storage services. The contractor must provide 24-hour, seven-day dispatch and meet response-time requirements of 45 minutes for Emergency Services and Breeze transit assets and 60 minutes for other County assets. Services include towing fire and rescue vehicles, transit buses, heavy equipment, and other vehicles, with specified equipment and procedures for driveshaft or axle removal, drop-off, invoicing, and safe transport. The initial contract term is three years. Bidders must provide at least two references, including at least one governmental reference, demonstrating the required towing and dispatch experience. Insurance requirements include workers' compensation, commercial general liability, business automobile liability, and garagekeeper's legal liability coverage, including on-hook liability coverage for County vehicle towing.
