Description
The Massachusetts Department of Mental Health is soliciting a general contractor to demolish, remove, and replace the existing roof system at the Sitterly Building. The work includes roof sheathing and asphalt shingle roofing, self-adhering underlayment, roof-edge and sheet-metal flashing, joint sealants, related carpentry, waste removal, and associated roof penetrations and vents. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, permits, safety measures, prevailing-wage compliance, and coordination required for a complete installation. The estimated base construction cost is $100,000, and the work must be completed within 90 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site walk-through is required, and bids must include the completed general bid form, prevailing-wage/OSHA acknowledgment, a 5 percent bid deposit, and the specified contractor eligibility documentation. The solicitation also requires a three-year equivalent-project experience certification, insurance coverage, and compliance with Massachusetts public-construction requirements.
