Description
Montgomery County is soliciting bids for the complete replacement of the existing HVAC cooling tower at the Reibold Building. The work includes construction, removal of existing equipment, installation of the replacement cooling tower, associated electrical connections and equipment, coordination with other trades, permits and inspections, testing, submittals, and related work required for a complete and functional system. An alternate covers abandoned HVAC removal, and another covers cooling tower variable-frequency-drive replacement. The engineer’s estimate is $475,000, consisting of a $420,000 base estimate plus estimated alternates of $25,000 and $30,000. The project requires prevailing-wage compliance, a mandatory pre-bid meeting, bid security, performance and payment bonding, insurance, contractor qualifications, and substantial completion by April 30, 2027. Bids must be submitted electronically through the County’s procurement portal.
