Description
The Town of Darien is soliciting sealed bids from licensed equipment dealers for replacement of the Darien Fire Department’s apparatus-floor heating system, boiler, and domestic hot-water equipment. The work includes removing two existing heaters, designing and installing four ceiling-mounted unit heaters with thermostats and rigid conduit, engineering and sizing a new boiler system, installing an indirect hot-water heater, replacing necessary piping and circulator pumps, and providing all labor, materials, and equipment. The awarded dealer must conduct a site visit, provide system-use and maintenance training, and provide a five-year warranty with annual preventive maintenance. Bidders must identify at least two Connecticut municipalities where they installed the proposed system within the past three years. Equivalent equipment requires prior owner approval. The bid requires a lump-sum price for the apparatus-floor heater installation and the boiler/hot-water-heater installation, with insurance, delivery, and installation requirements specified in the bid documents.
