Description
The City of Santa Maria is seeking an experienced contractor to provide citywide scheduled mechanical sweeping of approximately 14,686 annual curb miles, including arterial, collector, residential, off-street bikeway, and protected on-street bikeway routes. Services also include sweeping approximately 1,752 annual acres of city-owned parking lots, landfill access roads, and other areas, with debris removal and disposal at the Santa Maria Regional Landfill. The scope includes equipment and operator staffing, backup sweepers, route scheduling and coordination with parking and solid-waste collection activities, emergency and event sweeps, manual or compact-equipment sweeping for constrained bikeways and medians, complaint response, monthly reporting, GPS tracking where available, environmental compliance, and prevailing-wage compliance. The initial contract term is four years, with a stated January 2027 start date. Proposals must include a detailed approach, equipment inventory, operator information, references, cost proposal, and completed Form W-9.
