Description
The California Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for routine and non-routine heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning services at Caltrans District 05 maintenance stations in Santa Barbara County. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, vehicles, tools, parts, materials, supplies, travel, permits, legal disposal or recycling of waste, and incidentals needed to maintain, diagnose, repair, restore, replace, and install HVAC systems. Work includes preventive maintenance, emergency and non-routine repairs, HVAC unit replacement, system assessments, equipment startup, and related electrical, gas, condensate, ducting, controls, and roof-sealing work. Replacement equipment must generally be new, like kind and function, and of equal or greater capacity and efficiency, subject to Caltrans approval. The agreement has an estimated term from November 2, 2026, through November 1, 2028, with work assigned through service requests of no more than three months. The total bid proposal may not exceed $484,000. The bidder must maintain a primary business location in Santa Barbara County or within 60 miles of a listed maintenance station, hold a current California C-20 Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning Contractor License, and maintain Department of Industrial Relations registration. Subcontracting is not permitted. The successful bidder must provide required insurance after award and a payment bond before work begins on any service request priced at $25,000 or more. Addendum No. 1 states that this is a rebid of IFB 05A2989 because several low bidders were nonresponsive for lacking required California small-business certification or the required local business location.
