Description
The City of Santa Barbara is soliciting a contractor to replace approximately 18,200 linear feet—approximately four miles—of existing water main in the San Roque neighborhood. The work includes installation of 8-inch PVC distribution water main and associated 4-inch and 6-inch pipe, fittings, valves, air/vacuum relief stations, blow-off assemblies, service connections, fire hydrants, and appurtenances; tying over or relocating existing residential water services; and abandoning or removing existing water mains. The project also includes traffic control, temporary and permanent pavement restoration, trenching and shoring, utility coordination, testing, disinfection, pressure testing, dewatering as needed, and related site restoration. The estimated construction cost is $8,100,000. A valid California Class A general engineering contractor's license and California Department of Industrial Relations registration are required. The successful bidder must self-perform at least 50% of the work, excluding designated specialty work.
