Description
The City of Mineral Wells is soliciting bids for rehabilitation of the Ram one-million-gallon ground storage tank under Project No. 46543.25 and Bid No. 2026-010. The work includes removing and replacing the existing roof with an aluminum geodesic dome; installing roof supports, hatches, vents, guardrails, tie-off points, and related appurtenances; hydroblasting and recoating exterior surfaces; abrasive blasting and applying high-performance interior coatings; replacing ladders, overflow piping, valves, level-indicator components, and other tank equipment; performing welding, steel, grout, concrete, and chime-seal repairs; and completing inspection, testing, disinfection, cleanup, and commissioning. The contractor must provide coating quality-control inspections, testing, documentation, containment, environmental monitoring, and hold-point coordination. The project requires a preconstruction tank inspection certified by a registered engineer, coating plans and qualifications, product submittals, quality-control records, and compliance with applicable AWWA, OSHA, TCEQ, EPA, NSF, NACE, and SSPC requirements. Performance and payment bonds are required, while a bid bond is not required. The project duration is 150 days to substantial completion and 180 days to final completion. Additive alternatives cover removal and replacement of specified altitude and gate valves. The engineer's estimate is approximately $1,075,000.
