Description
First Step House is soliciting a contractor for exterior rehabilitation of an occupied duplex at 406 and 410 N 800 W in Salt Lake City. The work includes removing and disposing of existing siding, gutters, and downspouts; installing house wrap and flashing; installing minimum 0.044-inch vinyl siding with matching trim and accessories; installing 6-inch seamless aluminum K-style gutters, 3-by-4-inch aluminum downspouts, and micro-mesh gutter guards; and directing water at least four feet from the foundation. Damaged sheathing or fascia may be replaced only with the owner's written approval. The contractor must obtain permits, follow lead-safe practices if required, clean the site daily, coordinate work around the occupied facility, and provide a two-year workmanship warranty. The project is federally financed and subject to Davis-Bacon prevailing-wage, certified-payroll, HUD, and Section 3 requirements. A bid bond and performance and payment bond are required for projects exceeding $50,000; the bid form states that the bid security is 5 percent when applicable. Work must be completed within 30 consecutive calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
