Description
The City of Tybee Island is soliciting bids to replace the roof of the Historic Guard House at 31 Van Horn Avenue. The base bid includes removal and disposal of the existing roofing; installation of a DaVinci multi-width slate tile roof on approximately 2,650 square feet of the main building; replacement of the porch roof with a painted standing-seam metal system over approximately 875 square feet; fascia, soffit, trim, and related wood repairs; approximately 325 linear feet of six-inch seamless gutters with gutter screening; and eleven four-inch round downspouts totaling approximately 150 linear feet. The work also includes flashing, underlayment, decking repairs, painting, cleanup, and manufacturer and workmanship warranties. An alternate bid provides for synthetic slate tile on the main building. The contractor must provide labor, equipment, and materials, comply with applicable Georgia licensing and code requirements, and furnish a five-percent bid bond. The successful contractor must provide 100-percent performance and payment bonds before contract execution, as well as specified general liability, workers' compensation, employer's liability, and automobile liability insurance. The project is a one-time contract, with completion required within 90 days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
