Description
The City of Detroit is requesting design-build services for HVAC upgrades at the Northwest Activities Center, a 150,000-square-foot recreation facility. The scope includes assessment and reporting on existing rooftop units, VAVs, and controls; design and permitting; removal and replacement of rooftop units; HVAC Niagara controls; electrical, plumbing, gas, fire-alarm, and roof-related work; abatement as needed; equipment disposal; duct cleaning; air balancing; certified commissioning; and repair of surfaces affected by construction. New rooftop units must be Carrier, York, or equivalent. The facility will remain operational during construction, requiring coordination, phasing, an approved master schedule, onsite supervision, progress reporting, meetings, closeout documentation, training, and warranties. The solicitation requires the listed technical, pricing, forms, certifications, and contract documents to be uploaded through the EUNA Bonfire Supplier Portal. Respondents must demonstrate at least 10 years of relevant HVAC installation or upgrade experience for municipalities or large commercial facilities, provide commercial liability insurance, and demonstrate the ability to obtain payment and performance bonds equal to 100% of the contract value. The contract term is two years, and the City anticipates one or multiple awards.
