Description
The California Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for the removal and legal disposal of 20 existing heaters and thermostats, followed by the furnishing, installation, connection, and testing of 20 commercial-grade power-vented natural gas unit heaters and thermostats. The work includes associated disconnects, fuses, whips, gas flexes, shut-off valves, flue pipes, vent ducting, gas lines, wiring, connectors, permits, and incidental materials. The heaters include 17 units for the Main Shop rated at least 300,000 BTU/hour with 83% thermal efficiency and three Parts Department units rated at least 30,000 BTU; equivalent products are permitted where specified. The contractor must hold a current California C-20 Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning Contractor license and comply with applicable public-works, prevailing-wage, Department of Industrial Relations registration, and subcontractor requirements. The bid must include the required certifications and declarations, a minimum 3% Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise participation commitment, and all required bid documents. The total bid proposal may not exceed $484,000.00. Work is to be completed within 60 business days after commencement, with testing performed in the presence of the agency's contract manager and three copies of operation and maintenance manuals provided upon completion.
