Description
The City of Detroit Office of Contracting and Procurement is requesting proposals from qualified providers for high-volume, on-call language interpretation and translation services. The scope includes in-person, video remote, and telephonic interpretation; simultaneous and consecutive interpretation; support for City Council, board and commission meetings, community meetings, hearings, one-on-one meetings, emergencies, and other public-facing activities; and translation of at least 200 documents annually, including applications, forms, notices, flyers, brochures, presentations, and signage. Respondents must offer at least Arabic, Bengali, Braille, French, and Latin American Spanish, with dialect variations and broader language coverage preferred. Services must support 24/7/365 on-demand requests, emergency alternatives, short processing times, and requested on-site equipment. Providers must demonstrate at least five years of relevant experience, organizational capacity, qualified and certified interpreters and translators, HIPAA compliance training, and compliance with applicable quality standards, including ISO 17100 for translations. The contract term is two years, with one or multiple awards anticipated.
