Description
The City of Detroit is seeking an insurance brokerage firm to represent the City in obtaining and servicing its insurance program. The selected firm will design insurance specifications, market coverage, solicit and evaluate quotations, assess insurers' financial status, place and service policies, and provide consulting support as insurance needs arise. The scope includes property, boiler and machinery, public officials liability, airport and aircraft liability, excess liability, crime, fine arts, environmental, cyber, pollution, watercraft, special events, and other coverage as needed. Services also include reviewing policies and endorsements, issuing certificates, reviewing contract language, assisting with large claims, training City staff, preparing annual stewardship reports, advising on market and underwriting developments, and providing risk-management and loss-control recommendations. Respondents must have a Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services license, be authorized to do business in Michigan, and have at least five years of experience providing insurance or brokerage services to public entities in Michigan. The contract is for three years with three one-year renewal options.
