Description
The City of Detroit is seeking qualified marine repair facilities to provide as-needed repair and maintenance services, labor, and parts for the Detroit Police Department's marine fleet. The scope includes diagnosing electrical and mechanical malfunctions; preventative maintenance of engines and mechanical systems; fuel, cooling, and electrical system servicing; oil and fluid changes; propeller, hull, steering, throttle, control, and navigation-system inspection and repair; diagnostic testing; troubleshooting; winterization; spring recommissioning; and corrosion inspections. Mobile service, emergency trailering, and towing capabilities may also be identified by respondents. Respondents must provide firm pricing for labor, diagnostics, parts markups, applicable shop or environmental fees, Mercury 250XL engine services, and listed preventative-maintenance services. Minimum qualifications include state licensing and/or ASE certification, marine expertise, small-engine repair, outboard/inboard motor repair, electronic repair, and Mercury, Dura-Max Diesel, and Yanmar Diesel certifications. The solicitation requires at least five years of similar experience and submission of a respondent questionnaire, pricing sheet, required forms and certifications, and applicable Detroit-based business certification documentation.
