Description
The City of Detroit Police Department is seeking one or more qualified, licensed vendors and authorized OEM parts distributors to provide maintenance and repair services for its light-duty undercover vehicles. The vehicle fleet may include compact cars, station wagons, vans, small trucks, sport utility vehicles, and other passenger vehicles, both foreign and domestic. Services include diagnostics and repairs for engines, transmissions, electrical systems, radiators, alternators, brakes, batteries, tires, belts, fluids, and other vehicle components, as well as routine maintenance. The contractor must provide OEM or approved-equal parts, maintain parts inventory, use the Mitchell time guide for invoicing, provide written estimates and obtain prior repair approval, warranty repairs, and have access to 24-hour towing and road service. The solicitation requires a repair facility within a 12-mile radius of Detroit, at least two certified mechanics, proof of authorization to perform warranty repairs, and at least five years of similar experience. The contract term is two years, and multiple contracts may be awarded.
