Description
Alameda County is soliciting proposals from certified forensic pathologists for a pool of up to three contractors to provide as-needed forensic pathology and medical death investigation services. The scope includes record review, external examinations, limited, full, and complex autopsies, scene response, consultation, coordination of ancillary services such as toxicology and imaging, evidence and specimen documentation, and determination of the cause and manner of death. The County estimates approximately 1,200 autopsies and related toxicology services annually, with capacity required for routine, urgent, and mass-fatality assignments. Contractors must maintain applicable California medical licensure and professional credentials, meet forensic pathology training and experience requirements, and produce complete, signed autopsy reports and supporting records within specified deadlines. Proposals must address qualifications, key personnel, proposed services, relevant experience, five references, pricing, exceptions and clarifications, and the County's Bid Response Packet. The contract is planned for three years with a mutually agreed option for an additional two years.
