Description
Contra Costa Water District is soliciting bids for underwater diving and cleaning services at two canal siphons: the Kirker Creek siphon in Pittsburg and the Camino Andres siphon in Bay Point. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, and materials to remove accumulated gravel, silt, sediment, hardened deposits, and debris; dispose of removed materials and large objects; install and remove downstream silt screens; and restore each site. One siphon will be cleaned during each fiscal year, at the District’s selection. The work includes submerged operations in concrete siphons approximately 8.75 feet in diameter, with the Kirker Creek siphon approximately 130 feet long and the Camino Andres siphon approximately 280 feet long. The contractor must provide a health and safety plan covering both sites, a written diving safety manual and dive plan, required safety procedures and training documentation, traffic control, equipment security, fence removal and reinstallation, and compliance with prevailing-wage, confined-space, environmental, and water-work requirements. A post-dive inspection and video will be performed by the District’s dive contractor. The contract includes a one-year base period and one priced one-year option period.
