Description
The contractor will provide a community-based Opiate Substitution Treatment Program for veterans, including daily methadone dosing, physical examinations and evaluations for admission, and frequent medical evaluations to adjust doses. The contractor must also conduct urine toxicology screenings as requested, perform breath alcohol testing as requested, and seek VA approval before recommending an alternative medication when methadone is unsuitable. The contractor must operate a freestanding, appropriately licensed facility; maintain a DEA license for opiate substitution, an Arizona methadone-treatment license, and accreditation from either The Joint Commission or CARF; and provide dedicated office and group-session space and related furnishings and administrative support. Monthly treatment reports and patient satisfaction surveys are also required. VA staff provide case management, counseling, and psychiatric services. The contract is an IDIQ with a one-year base period and four option years, and a maximum total value of $3 million.
