Description
The Bureau of Justice Assistance is seeking applications for the FY 2026 Veterans Treatment Court Program. The program supports implementation and enhancement of veterans treatment court operations serving high-risk and high-need veterans in the criminal justice system, with the goal of reducing opioid, stimulant, alcohol, and other substance use. Supported court operations may integrate substance use disorder and mental health disorder treatment, mandatory drug testing, incentives and sanctions, and transitional services for veterans with substance use or co-occurring mental health disorders, including veterans with histories of violence, post-traumatic stress disorder, or traumatic brain injury. The funding instrument is a cooperative agreement, with awards ranging from $0 to $2,500,000 and no cost-sharing or matching requirement stated.
