Description
The City of Tucson is soliciting proposals from qualified firms for multiple-award, as-needed services involving electric motor rewinding, repair, rebuilding, troubleshooting, and purchase. The scope covers motors and motor/pump combinations used with pumps, wells, boosters, aerators, sewage and sump pumps, pools, water slides, and other electrically powered equipment. Contractors must support motors up to 500 horsepower, provide pickup and delivery within the Tucson metropolitan area, furnish new or replacement motors, and meet specified repair, testing, warranty, safety, and response-time requirements. The scope also includes installation, repair, troubleshooting, and replacement of variable-frequency drives, soft-start motor controllers, and standard motor controls in large motor-control centers. Proposals must address the firm's method of approach, equipment, repair procedures, reporting, qualifications, key personnel, confined-space training, EASA membership, industry guidelines, similar references, and pricing. The contract is for one year with up to four additional one-year extensions, and the City anticipates approximately $200,000 in annual spending, although no volume is guaranteed.
