Description
The California Department of Developmental Services is soliciting bids for qualified, certified in-person American Sign Language interpreters to support communication access for Deaf, DeafBlind, Deaf Disabled, Hard of Hearing, and Late-Deafened individuals. Services will be provided on an as-needed basis for meetings, trainings, conferences, public events, internal employee activities, sight translation, and other official business. Required communication modes may include ASL, trilingual services, oral, ProTactile, tactile or close-vision communication, lip-reading, sight translation, and voice-to-text services. Contractors must provide master-level interpreters and certified or Deaf interpreters for sight translation, maintain service continuity, provide additional interpreters for assignments exceeding one hour when needed, and support requests throughout California. Each proposed interpreter must hold an accepted RID, CDI, or valid legacy certification listed in the solicitation. The agreement is anticipated to run from October 21, 2026, through September 30, 2029. Bidders must submit the required certification, pricing, reference, confidentiality, and state contracting forms and attachments.
