Description
The New York City Law Department is soliciting firm-fixed-price quotations for transcription of digital audio and video files, including English-to-English transcription and transcription from various languages into English. The contractor must transcribe recordings verbatim, identify inaudible portions with timestamps, proofread transcripts, make requested spelling, punctuation, and formatting corrections without additional cost, protect confidential information, and handle audio cassettes, tapes, digital files, CD-ROMs, and other media. Materials will be removed from City property and processed at the contractor’s location. Additional consideration may be given to vendors able to provide backup services, including telephonic or remote interpretation, scheduled in-person interpretation, sign-language interpretation, and written translation. Interpretation personnel must demonstrate language proficiency and relevant subject-matter expertise; sign-language interpreters must maintain RID or NAD certification. Translation vendors must maintain a documented quality-assurance process and, when requested, provide notarized or certified translations while preserving document layouts and supporting common office, desktop-publishing, web, image, and multimedia file formats. The contract is anticipated to run for three years with one two-year renewal option and is exclusively limited to City-certified Minority- and Woman-Owned Business Enterprises.
