Description
San Bernardino County Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator is seeking an independent third-party forensic pathology provider to perform services required under California Assembly Bill 1108. The scope includes complete external and internal autopsies, gross and microscopic examinations, toxicology and other laboratory testing through the Sheriff's contracted laboratory, determinations of cause and manner of death, pathology reports, signed autopsy protocols, consultations, on-call coverage, and court testimony. Services must be performed by licensed physicians and surgeons with current American Board of Pathology forensic pathology certification, and autopsies must be conducted exclusively at the Sheriff's Department Coroner facility. The initial contract term is one year, tentatively beginning in December 2026 and ending in November 2027, with possible four additional one-year renewals. Proposals are evaluated on qualifications and experience, financial review, technical approach, cost, and references. The proposal package requires the specified county attachments and narratives, including a cost proposal, experience and qualifications, work plan, references, certifications, financial statements, insurance affidavit, and current Form W-9.
