Description
The State of California Department of General Services is soliciting a contractor to install and commission a new fire alarm system at the Department of Justice Riverside Forensic Laboratory, then deactivate, demolish, and dispose of the existing system. The work includes the fire alarm control unit, initiating devices, notification appliances, remote power supplies, terminal cabinets, wiring and conduit, fiber-optic network communications, monitoring interfaces, system programming, testing, integration, delegated-design shop drawings, record documents, training, and restoration of affected finishes. The project requires California contractor license classifications C-10 and C-16 and must be performed in an occupied facility while maintaining operations and complying with applicable health and safety mandates. The estimated project cost is $737,200, and the stated term is 365 calendar days. A mandatory prebid site inspection is required for bid eligibility. The successful bidder must provide payment and performance bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract price, and satisfy the State’s Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise participation requirements. A substitution request confirmed that substitutions may be considered through the construction-phase submittal review process, but the Notifier ONYXWorks workstation interface is specifically outside the project scope.
