The Kansas Department of Health and Environment, through the Kansas Health and Environment Laboratories Newborn Screening Program, is soliciting proposals for second-tier next-generation sequencing analysis of dried blood spot specimens for lysosomal disorders. The requested testing includes analysis of the IDUA, IDS, GAA, GALC, ARSA, and DMD genes for MPS I, MPS II, Pompe disease, Krabbe disease, metachromatic leukodystrophy, and Duchenne muscular dystrophy, respectively. The anticipated volume is approximately 250 newborn screening specimens annually. The contractor must provide official result reports on vendor letterhead through email, fax, or an online portal within 14 business days after receiving each specimen. Pricing must be provided per condition, including individual and bulk pricing where available, with prices fixed during the contract period. The contract is for three years through December 31, 2029, with two optional 12-month renewals. Proposals must include technical and cost proposals, references, qualifications, methodology, required certifications, and completed solicitation forms.
