Description
The County of Riverside, in coordination with the Cities of Jurupa Valley and Riverside, is soliciting construction bids to replace the structurally deficient two-lane Market Street Bridge over the Santa Ana River with an approximately 1,216-foot-long, 88-foot-wide, nine-span prestressed concrete bridge. The replacement will provide four traffic lanes, shoulders, bicycle facilities, a multi-use path, bridge railings, deep foundations, concrete piers, retaining walls, sound walls, drainage improvements, erosion protection, lighting, traffic signals, fencing, signage, and pavement improvements. The work also includes demolition and removal of the existing bridge, staged construction to maintain traffic, temporary access roads and bridges, utility relocation, roadway widening and striping, traffic control, stormwater pollution prevention, environmental protection, and related earthwork. The engineering estimate is $11,300,000–$13,200,000 for the base bid and $38,500,000–$44,500,000 for the base bid plus Schedule A structure items. A 10% bid bond, 100% payment bond, and 100% performance bond are required. The successful contractor must hold a current and active California Class A contractor's license, comply with Buy America and prevailing-wage requirements, and complete the work within 520 working days. No DBE contract goal is required.
