Description

Sacramento County is soliciting sealed bids for construction work to replace legacy heating and ventilation equipment controllers in existing HVAC building control panels at the B.T. Collins Youth Detention Facility. The contractor must furnish labor, materials, equipment, permits, and incidental work; reuse existing electrical cabinets, field devices, and wiring where applicable; install uninterruptible power-supply backup devices at each controller; and install new IT drops and communications infrastructure. The building automation system must extend the existing Siemens infrastructure with compatible Siemens controllers and software, BACnet communications, programming, commissioning, testing, graphics, training, energy reporting and data analytics software, and warranty support. The work also includes Category 6 communications cabling, conduits, back boxes, labeling, testing, related electrical work, rooftop conduit penetrations with TPO waterproofing, and potentially minor asbestos and lead spot-abatement work. This is a prevailing-wage public-works project with an estimated construction cost of $2,017,787 and a 240-calendar-day completion period. Required California contractor classifications are General Building Contractor Class B, Low Voltage Systems Contractor C-7 or C-10, Electrical Contractor C-10, and Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning Contractor C-20. Addendum 4 adds up to 100 linear feet of surface-mounted conduit as a bid item and clarifies that existing corridor cable trays have sufficient capacity; no new cable trays are anticipated.
