Description
Sacramento County is soliciting bids for an annual supply of institutional laundry concentrates and related services for the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center, Main Jail, and Youth Detention Facility. Required products include liquid laundry detergent, laundry break, liquid bleach/destainer, liquid neutralizer, and fabric softener. Products must meet specified chemical requirements, be adaptable to various high-temperature commercial laundry equipment, and be supplied in sealed returnable containers. The estimated annual quantities are listed in Appendix I, which bidders must complete with unit pricing, extended amounts, proposed brands or catalog numbers, chemical dosage, and delivery time. The contractor must furnish and install vendor-owned automatic dispensing systems at no additional cost, provide bi-weekly equipment checks, maintenance and replacement of failed equipment within one business day, washer-extractor formula charts, quarterly operational and safety training, and bi-monthly usage and maintenance reports. The contractor must also provide safety data sheets with hazardous-material deliveries, comply with applicable safety requirements, and arrange background clearances for personnel entering secured correctional facilities. Bidders must have at least three years of comparable institutional laundry experience and hold all licenses required to provide the supplies and services. The contract has an initial one-year term, with up to four additional one-year extensions by mutual agreement.
