Description
First 5 Sacramento Commission is seeking a qualified organization or consortium to provide community-based developmental parent-child playgroups for children ages 0–5 with exceptional needs and their parents or caregivers. Services must use the evidence-based Pivotal Response Treatment protocol, include sensory play and caregiver engagement, foster family and peer connections, accommodate families speaking languages other than English, and operate at least twice weekly for at least 60 minutes over at least 32 weeks per year. Each group may include up to eight identified children, with eligible siblings permitted at the grantee’s discretion. Applicants must be located in and currently serve Sacramento County, have at least two years of relevant experience, and provide supervision by someone with at least a master’s-level education in a relevant field and two years of early-intervention and family-support experience. Playgroup leaders must hold PRT certification and have at least one year of PRT experience. Partnerships and subcontracts are allowed, but applicants may not re-grant the funds to other entities. Up to $240,000 is available cumulatively for the three-year term beginning July 1, 2027, with budgets generally maintained evenly and annual increases capped at 2% for years two and three.
