Description
The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking a qualified contractor to repair the overhead door at the Newton Maintenance Garage. Amendment 1 specifies that the door is 12 feet high by 14 feet wide and removes the reference to drawings because no drawings are provided. The work includes removing and inspecting damaged door components, tracks, operators, sheet-metal gutters, flashings, insulated metal panels, brick veneer, edge girt, and related materials; salvaging reusable components; and disposing of damaged materials. The contractor must install matching roof flashing, insulated metal panels, gutters, drainage flashings, brick ties, utility brick, paint, and sealant; repair the roof membrane and gutter flashing to provide a weathertight system; reinstall salvaged overhead-door components; clean adjacent areas; and coordinate additional repairs identified through inspections by change order. The solicitation requires contractor registration information, material lead times, estimated project duration, proposed dates if applicable, and authorized-signatory information. If the contract amount is $25,000 or more, the successful bidder must furnish performance and payment bonds covering 100% of the contract; the bond form will be provided upon award.
