Description
Polk County Conservation Board is soliciting bids for timber stand improvement on 76 acres in the Fourmile Creek Greenway. Work includes modified crop-tree release; felling or girdling designated trees; herbicide application using permitted products; creation of on-site burn piles; removal and cleanup of debris; and protection of residual trees, trails, roads, utilities, cultural-resource areas, and other site features. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, and materials, maintain required safety controls, clean equipment before mobilization, and complete the work by March 1, 2027. Cutting is prohibited between March 31 and October 1, and work is expected to begin on or around November 19, 2026 after authorization. The bidder must hold a commercial certified pesticide applicator license in Iowa and provide proof with the bid. The successful contractor must furnish performance and payment bonds each equal to 100% of the contract amount and comply with specified insurance requirements, including workers' compensation, commercial general liability, excess liability, automobile liability, and applicable professional liability and builders risk coverage. The bid is a lump-sum submission using the attached bid sheets.
