Description
Colquitt County is soliciting sealed bids for a contractor to design, furnish, and erect a clear-span, all-steel shelter at the county prison. The shelter must be approximately 16 by 24 feet with a single-slope 1:12 roof, a 16-foot low-side eave height, uninsulated 26-gauge roofing, two covered walkways, concrete piers, gutters, downspouts, splash guards, flashing, and all required structural framing, trusses, columns, and anchorage. The contractor is responsible for materials, equipment, permits, utility locates, installation, code compliance, OSHA compliance, and debris disposal. The bid must include shop or erection drawings, manufacturer and engineering information, warranty details, and a 10% contingency for owner use. The work requires a licensed Georgia professional engineer for design submittals, a metal-building manufacturer with at least 10 years of experience and IAS AC472 accreditation, and an erector with at least five years of specialized experience. Bidders must provide proof of five comparable prior projects, licensing and insurance, workers' compensation, E-Verify, and the ability to clear a background check. Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid site meeting is required to participate.
